It's a jungle out there
Party Mums were tasked with planning a fun interactive birthday party for a young animal lover. The birthday girl wanted a craft activity and an exciting experience she could share with her friends. We knew we had cracked it when we came up with our Jungle safari theme.
On arrival at the party, guests were super excited to get started on their first craft activity. Each guest was given a safari animal bear skin to stuff, chosen by the birthday girl herself to reflect each of her guests personalities. Animals included a panda, elephant, cheetah, monkey, giraffe, crocodile, tiger and even a panther. There were lots of laughs and giggles as they were stuffing their animals, not to mention a few cheeky cuddles with their super soft new friends. Once all the animals were stuffed and sealed it was on to the next craft, which was to personalise a mini t-shirt for their animal to wear. Using fabric markers guests enjoyed decorating the mini white t-shirts and naming their new friends, including completing a birth certificate and travel passport too.
Once guests had cleaned up and secured their soft animals in their party boxes, it was time for the next event. Guests were instructed to be very quiet for this part and directed to the entrance of the party room
Inside the room was a collection of cuddly and scaly creatures for party guests to meet. An in depth session with over 10 different animals, where the guests could hold and stroke each creature and learn fascinating facts about their diet and sleeping habits. Question and answer sessions for each animal and even the option to feed a few of the animals too had party guests mesmerised. Each animal was announced before being removed from its home, to allow any guests who did not want to hold the animal the chance to sit out. The look on everyones faces when a snake and a tarantula made an appearance was priceless.
Another quick clean up and the party guests were ready for their feast. The party food table was decorated with palm leaves, neon safari animals and metallic gold accents here and there, with individual bespoke party boxes containing savory and sweet treats for all to enjoy. A giant balloon wall backdrop in coordinating colours sat at the head of the table and created a real focal point for the room.
Every party needs a birthday cake and this jungle themed birthday cake was stunning. A hand made single tiered cake with leaf detail and gold topper, complete with matching macaroons.
When it was time to leave, guests gathered their safari buddies that they had made earlier and the birthday girl handed each guest a personalised safari treat bag, filled with sweets to enjoy at home. A fun packed afternoon was had by all and it turns out it was even an educational party too!!
